first off, i'm one of the very few hu players who will limp on the button. most players, especially at the big limits, want to play a big pot every hand, and lets say u limp at 5-10, and they cant raise it to 100+ its very frustrating and confusing for them. almost like i'm breaking some sort of gentlemen agreement or unwritten law.
anyway, i limp, he 3x's, i cant fold. ill never fold full stack or more for 3x regardless of my cards. i flop a strait draw, and an over. he bets this flop, and i feel like hes the type of guy, where if i hit my strait and bet turn and river, hell pay me off cuz he just wont believe me. turn card is a jack. now im gonna put in a tester bet and see where im at. i bet about 2/3 the pot. he takes his time, and calls. river is a deuce, that 2 fills up the bottom end of the strait.
he checks. most people at this point say, ok well i might have the best hand, i might not, i dont want to be raised so im not putting any more money in. guess what. keep this quiet, u wont be raised unless he has a monster.
ive determined that if he had AA KK QQ he would of bet the turn, the jack scared him, meaning my jack was good, at this point i put him on 88 thinking he would think i will only bet here with a strait. he knows he can only beat a bluff, and thats what i try to represent, this way he just calls. and i get an extra quarter of a buy in
